Gerry Dee & Herb Dixon

Gerry Dee was born in Scarborough and grew up in Toronto. He spent 10 years as a high school phys-ed teacher before making the switch to full time comedy in 2003. In 1999, he won Toronto's Funniest New Comic competition. He would later tape his own half-hour Comedy Now Special on CTV and The Comedy Network in 2001. In 2002, he was the first Canadian in 27 years to win the prestigious San Francisco International Comedy Competition. Former comics who got their start in this competition include Robin Williams, Dana Carvey and Ellen Degeneres. In 2004, 2006 and 2007 he was nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award for Best Male Comic in Canada. He appeared in the CBC mini-series Canada Russia 72 & Trailer Park Boys: The Movie. Gerry recently appeared on NBC's Last Comic Standing 5 where he finished in third place. www.gerrydee.com Herb Dixon grew up in Calgary. As a teenager, he discovered he could make people laugh - really laugh! With his rubber face, his ability to recreate sounds, and his talent to tell an engaging story, it seemed he was destined for a career in comedy. So, in 1979 he began making club audiences laugh as an amateur comic in Vancouver's comedy Clubs. Twenty years have passed from the time Herb decided to become an entertainer.
