Blue Oyster Cult

For nearly three decades, Blue Öyster Cult has been thrilling fans of intelligent hard rock worldwide with powerful albums loaded with classic songs. Indeed, the Long Island, New York based band is revered within the hard rock and heavy metal scene for its pioneering work. Upon the release of BÖC's self-titled debut album in 1972, the band was praised for its catchy-yet-heavy music and lyrics that could be provocative, terrifying, funny or ambiguous, often all in the same song. The band's first live album On Your Feet or on Your Knees (1975) achieved gold status and was followed up by one of their first platinum albums, Agents of Fortune (1976). It contained the hit single (Don't Fear) The Reaper, which reached #12 on the Billboard charts. Other songs on the album were (This Ain't) The Summer of Love, E.T.I. (Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence) & The Revenge of Vera Gemini. In 2001, the band released the album Curse of the Hidden Mirror. From the potent songwriting to the technical challenges of recording digitally, it marked an important phase of BÖC's career, and that's really saying something for a band that's sold more than 15 million records. The band was listed in VH1's countdown of the greatest hard rock bands of all time.
