Why Vote?

I can’t believe when I hear Canadians say they are not going to vote. I was raised in a family that passionately coveted their right to vote. It’s the only thing that separates us from the evils of dictatorship and the grips of fascism, the right to elect representation. Yet for the first time in my life I am torn.
(At this time I am going to tell you how I vote so if you don’t want to know quit reading) I have voted Liberal all my life. I believe the combination of left wing social program management combined with a sound right wing economic management just fits for Canada. Mind you Liberal governments tend to get top heavy and thick… but Canada has always flourished under liberal management. (At this time I am going to tell you what I think of the leaders of the different parties… so if you are easily swayed, stop reading). Stephan Dion is a fool that couldn’t lead a thirsty horse to water if he was on the horse and the horse was standing in water up to it’s face. Steven Harper’s eye’s are too close together, and in men and dogs the closer their eyes are together the further you should be standing. Jack Layton… the man would promise you the moon if he thought you would (a) believe he could give you the moon and (b) vote for him. The Bloc and Green party are not on my radar… even though I get a kick out of Elisabeth May.
Even in these times of poor choices you must make a choice. One of these goofs will become or Prime Minister, like it or not… so execute your privilege.
