Could American Idol be done?!?!
I hope so!!! I lost interest in this show the first season after they went to L.A. and they didn't show the losers who couldn't sing and basically made fools of themselves. Once they had "viable" contestants, it was BORING! Then, in season two, people went out of their way to suck, so, that was it - in my opinion, the show was done. How many of these Idol winners haven't used the following slogan this past week? "Do you want fries with that?" Where are they now?
My other complaint about the show, or most of these fame and celebrity reality shows, is that it's giving our youth the wrong idea about being prepared for life. They think, I'll just win Idol and live happily ever after. It's the same with The Hills, America's Next Top Model, The Bachelor, etc... sorry kids, the odds of your life ending up like that is extremely low. 99.9% of the world doesn't live like that. Here's some suggestions for some "real" reality shows that I wish were on TV to keep the kids grounded.
1. Dancing with the vacuum cleaner - in your room!!!
2. Dogpoop the backyard hunter!!!
3. Hell's kitchen - clean it!!!
4. Cellphone swap!!! Do 1 through 3 and I'll give you your cellphone back.
Too good to be true? Probably, but to me, that would be "The Simple Life"
