The shot felt around the world!!!
I've watched alot of sports in my life and have seen some serious injuries - the Joe Theismann leg-snapping comes to mind - but I think every man who watched Sami Salo not only take a slap shot to his "nether region", but then writhe around on the ice, actually doubled over for a moment and felt sympathy pain. Now, I know there are women who will say, "Big deal! Try giving birth?" I agree. Child birth is probably the most pain a human being could sustain, however, you have 9 months to prepare, when you go into labor a doctor is there offering to freeze your whole lower body and if it were really that bad, there would be a whole lot more "only" children out there. There isn't a man who can prepare for a chunk of vulcanized rubber cutting through the air at near 100 miles an hour and nailing "Big Jim and the Twins" to the point that one of the twins ruptures.
Now around this big world of ours, there are many things that men don't agree on - religion, politics, the perfect steak. Hell, wars have been fought over these things. But there is one thing that unites all men - big or small, black or white and no matter what religious belief - and that is watching another man getting hit in the giblets!!! It's universal. A man witnesses it happen, his eyes grow wide, he get's a sick feeling and then doubles over in pain. Then, through that nauceous feeling, and this part I can't explain, for some dumb reason, he watches it again.
