Iranian Woman Saved From Stoning-For Now

Its a sad fact that the world is full of evil.

Much of it perpetrated by self righteous zealots like the ruling clerics of the Grand Council in Iran.
Currently there are twelve women and three men awaiting death by stoning there.  Most of them for the "crime" of adultery.  Often the women have actually been raped but that matters little to the depraved bigots in power there.  So they bury them in sand and hurl fist sized rocks at them, insuring a slow, tortuous death.  In a cruel, but entirely unsurprising twist, if the accused/convicted is able to escape once buried, they can go free.  They bury the men to their waist, the women - to their necks. Like so much in that fundamentalist Islamic country, their double standard puts women in a decidedly disadvantaged position.
One woman, Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, has had her stoning sentence commuted in a campaign spearheaded by the founder of Canada's largest book chain, Indigo Chief Executive Heather Reisman. But she's still incarcerated as are so many others.

I was pleased just now when I clicked on it to receive a message saying "please try again in a few minutes - traffic is very heavy - thank you!"
There's also link to it through these articles in the Globe and Mail:
