Cory Haim Dies, Wanna Join The Smashing Pumpkins?
Canadian actor Cory Haim has been found dead of an apparent accidental overdose. He was found unresponsive in his apartment in Los Angeles around 4am local time Wednesday morning, rushed to hospital, but later declared dead. Haim rose to fame as an 80's hearthrob in movies like The Lost Boys, but couldn't seem to rise above the "child star" ceiling. An investigation is underway.
Lenny Kravitz has always been surrounded by actors. His mom played Weezie (Louise) on the 70's sitcom The Jeffersons, the character mirrored in her real interacial marriage - Lenny's father is Jewish. He was married to Lisa Bonet of the Cosby Show. And their daughter Zoe is also one of the new Hollywood "it" girls. So it only seems natural for Lenny to follow suit. You may have seen him at the Oscars on Sunday. He had a small part as a nurse in Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire. Director Lee Daniels has now invited him to play Andrew Young in his next project Selma. Young was a good friend and collaborator of Dr. Martin Luther King and a major figure in the civil rights movement and events in Selma, Alabama during that time.
