What a game!!
Posted October 6th, 2008 by Hugh DixonSo friday afternoon a co-worker hands me 2 tickets to Friday night's Rider game...Woohoo!! What a game! How big was that scoop n' score play by Jones(?). I was on the Shady Pines side and had heard rumours that people on the westside were a little more subdued than those on the eastside "party zone". Let's see....1 woman a few seats away was shouting to "break his freaking legs!!" ( not her EXACT words ). I was chuckling at another guy who had 2 guys in front of him clanging cowbells right in his face.
My Turn at Elton Pt. 2
Posted September 18th, 2008 by Hugh DixonWow! That was a fun show to be at! As a fan who would be estatic going to a Led Zeppelin or AC/DC concert, I was not sure a few weeks ago how excited I would get on concert day. I found it was kinda like the Riders ( Ron Lancaster RIP ) when I first moved here...the enthusiasm was very infectious. When I talked to people before and after Tuesday's show, I found myself slightly giddy knowing it was my turn to watch a musical legend on Wednesday night at the Brandt ctr.
My turn at Elton!

Blinded us with science!
Posted September 10th, 2008 by Hugh DixonSo I'm sitting here looking at a story about scientists completing tests with the world's largest particle collider in their quest to "re-create" what happened immediately after the Big Bang. Now, I'm no scientist...the biggest experiment I'm ever involved in is seeing how long and at what power I need to put leftover pizza in the microwave so it doesn't come out soggy but...these guys are trying to re-create microscopic black holes. Are these not bad?!?!?!

Riders stuff
Posted September 3rd, 2008 by Hugh DixonRandom notes concerning the Riders....
1) despite exhibiting concussion like symptoms, Weston Dressler should be in the lineup on Sunday.
2) The Sept. 20th game vs. the lions is SOLD OUT but you can still win the tickets with Jack's League of Ordinary Listeners meetings at Alfredo's on Eastgate Thursday nights....listen to win!!
3) The guy who ran on the field during the Labour day classic is 27 yr old Saskatoon resident Luke Bergerman...he will appear in court Oct 1st to answer to mischief charges.
Somtimes life sucks!
Posted August 27th, 2008 by Hugh DixonI am sitting here dreading picking up my van from my mechanic. I own a 2002 van with 100 000 km on it. I ask you....would you expect a vehicle to have it's transmission blow up at 100k?!?!?!? I THINK NOT!! A certain car company is going to be getting a really nasty e-mail from me!! Looks like Mrs. Dixon is gonna have to get used to driving me back and forth to work cause that money was slated for a second little beater car for us. I'm so pi**ed off! I only post this on here cause I want you to know that life's little BS moments happen to everybody! Now don't you feel better about your week?
Thank Goodness I can't afford meat!
Posted August 26th, 2008 by Hugh DixonWant to know about the tainted meat from Maple Leaf? Check out Bill or Woody's blog. My 3 sons were complaining about the usual "Alpo" dinner they were having...told them about recall...who's laughing now children???
